Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

In a distopian land that was once North America, there are 12 districts and the Capitol. Once a year the Capitol hosts the "Hunger Games". Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12, and is 16 years old. Her younger sister, Primrose Everdeen, is 12 and in the reaping for the first time. Her name is only entered once, and Katniss's is entered 20 times. Against the odds, Prim's name is chosen. Suddenly, Katniss is faced with an impossible decision. Should she volunteer? Risk it all for the sake of her sister? In the arena only one will come out alive.

Recommendations: Very good book, 12 and up I would say. It is violent, and a little complicated, but not too confusing. It has an underlying love story, but I still like it and I don't like love stories. Very good book, please enjoy!
