Hans Allister AKA Cuffs AKA Hunts Alone is just trying to get by. He left the life of streetlord in order to protect his family. Hans is poor as dirt, and the only thing he has that is worth any value he can't get rid of. He has two thick cuffs on his wrists that he has had for as long as he can remember. He has been everywhere he can think of, but no one can get them off. To make matters worse, he's wanted for something he didn't do.
At the same time, Princess Raisa is getting ready to turn sixteen. After her name day, she will be eligible for marriage, but isn't sure if that's what she wants. She is a descendant of Queen Hanalea who defeated the Demon King years ago, and started the Grey Wolf line.

Recommendations: I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an interesting read. It is very gripping, and I couldn't put it down. Definitely a fantasy book, but it has some traces of metaphorical situations that make you think about your own life.

Rating: I would rate this book an 9. It is good, but Chima could have written it better. The storyline is fantastic, but there were some parts that you have to reread or think about to truly grasp what's happening
